We accept a wide variety of qualifications. Below you will find information on undergraduate and postgraduate entry requirements, English Language requirements, potential scholarships for international applicants and details of our overseas agents and representatives.

Undergraduate entry requirements

Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for direct entry to Queen's University Belfast's undergraduate Bachelor degree programmes:

  • Singapore/Cambridge GCE Level Examinations in a minimum of three subjects.
  • SIPCAL examinations will also be considered for admission. Offers are based on H2 subjects in line with UK A-Level requirements.
  • Applicants who have completed a three-year diploma at a Singapore Polytechnic may be considered for advanced entry to the second year of some undergraduate programmes (in particular Engineering and Biomedical Science). In general, a minimum B grade average (CGPA 3.0/4) or better in the Polytechnic Diploma is required for entry to second year, and relevant subjects must have been covered in the Diploma.
  • Between 30 and 36 points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). Information on required grades.

Postgraduate entry requirements

Applicants should normally have a good Bachelor's degree (CGPA 3.0 or above) from a recognised Singaporean university in order to be considered for direct admission to postgraduate diploma or master's degree programmes.

Queen's University Admissions Office staff have expertise on a wide range of qualifications from around the world and will be able to assess your application's comparability to the UK entry requirement. Please ensure you upload copies of all official transcripts and final award certificates for programmes already completed and those currently being completed.

If you are interested in Computing, Finance or Management courses, but do not meet the entry requirements, you may wish to consider a pre-masters Graduate Diploma offered by INTO Queen's.

Students interested in undertaking a PhD at Queen’s University need good grades in their Bachelor's and Master's programmes awarded by a recognised university in addition to a strong research proposal.

Please note that the grade required varies depending on the degree programme.  For further guidance, you should consult the Postgraduate Coursefinder or visit the website of the Queen's School that offers the degree programme.

English language requirements

Applicants will normally need to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or 90 TOEFL IBT (Internet based test). However, some courses have higher or lower requirements (please check individual programme requirements in the relevant undergraduate or postgraduate University Coursefinder. INTO Queen's University Belfast offers a wide range of English Language courses, which may assist students to meet the required standard of English language to be eligible for entry to degree programmes at the University. INTO Queen's Pre-University Courses

INTO Queen’s University Belfast is a partnership with Queen's University which offers academic courses and English language programmes designed specifically for international students. The courses help prepare students for entry to university in the UK and acclimatise students to living and studying in a university environment.
