First Lego League
Pupils from secondary schools across Northern Ireland took on young scientists from around the globe in the world's biggest interactive robotics challenge. The FIRST LEGO League event was brought to Belfast for the first time by a partnership of Queen's University, Invest NI, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, SAP Research and W5.

Queen's V Trinity 6th annual Boat Race
It was war on the water on Saturday 13 June as Queen’s University took on Trinity College Dublin in the sixth annual University boat race.
The 2,112 metre event along the River Lagan, modelled on the Oxford and Cambridge race, has become a firm fixture on the Northern Ireland sporting calendar.
There were crashing crews, bridge bashing and triple wins for Queen's.

Employability and Skills launch
The CBI has backed a new scheme to give Queen's graduates an added edge in the job market. The University's Employability and Skills Policy, developed after consultation with employers, parents and students, includes the Degree Plus initiative. This acknowledges the skills which students gain during extra-curricular activities such as voluntary work and sport.
Graduation – a week of celebration
More than 4,000 students are being awarded their degree scrolls in the Whitla Hall during summer graduation.
This year the Vice-Chancellor’s graduation address focuses on how the people of Queen’s have helped shape the past century and how they will also define the next.
Each afternoon the new graduates and their families and friends attend a garden party in the Quad.
Over the week catering staff will make over 15,000 cups of tea and coffee and more than 3,000 punnets of strawberries will be served with around 400 litres of cream.

QTV - Johnny Ball
TV personality Johnny Ball will be summing up the wonders of science for local sixth-formers in a special Queen’s University Centenary event on Tuesday.
Around 600 young people from throughout Northern Ireland will hear the celebrity science communicator deliver the Centenary Lecture for Schools in the University’s Whitla Hall.
