Campaigns

Queen's has implemented a number of campaigns to engage stakeholders in promoting the value of higher education to Northern Ireland and its economy.

The 'Election Doorstep Challenge' encouraged staff and alumni to challenge political parties and Assembly candidates prior to the elections on 5 May 2011 to explain their position on HE issues. Building on the momentum of the Doorstep Challenge, staff and alumni also engaged in a 'Lobbying Letter Campaign' which ran until Friday, 24 June 2011 – this campaign involved staff writing directly to the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister, and the Committee for Employment and Learning, to ensure that the funding of higher education remained a top priority on the political agenda.
