Neuroscience and Mental Health RRG Welcome!

The Neuroscience and Mental Health Recognised Research Group is one of several groups receiving core funding from the Research and Development Office of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety in Northern Ireland. The Neuroscience and Mental Health RRG currently encompasses nine research programmes and two Research Training Fellowships funded by the HPSS R & D Office. It brings together professionals from various disciplines, including Biochemistry, Medicine and Psychology, in order to help find better treatments for a number of psychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions.

These projects aim to explore the causes of Parkinson's disease, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia and tardive dyskinesia, depression as well as a number of eye diseases such as age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, myopia and retinal disorders.

The individual projects will run for between three and five years.
