A.V. Arhangel'skii         Remainders of various kinds of spaces in compactifications

We begin with a brief survey of recent results on remainders of non-locally compact topological groups in Hausdorff compactifications. In particular, we discuss, when such remainders are paracompact, when they have the Baire property, and when some of them are metrizable. We also discuss remainders of metrizable spaces (which needn't be topological groups), where some new results are presented and a new class of spaces is introduced.
