OFMdFM Project

(Feb 2012 - Jan 2015)

This 3-year OFMdFM project is entitled: Helping the most vulnerable out of the poverty trap and reducing inequality: Policies, strategies, and services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

While the Autism Act (NI) 2011 is being implemented and the Departmental strategy documents are being prepared, data provided by this research will provide a baseline that will allow for benchmarking progress for individual with ASD, including intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities in the years to come.

QUB is partner in STAMPPP II project: Science and the treatment of autism: A multimedia package for parents and professionals. Funded by European Grant; Leonardo da Vinci; Transfer of Innovation. With UU, Stockholm University (Sweden); The European Institute for the Study of Human Behavior (Italy); Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands); The State Diagnostic and Counselling Centre (Iceland); PEAT; ANTAM (London). The aim of the project is to translate SIMPLE STEPS into 4 more European languages, adapting it culturally, developing more curriculum items, and putting it online. For more information click here.

Summer Scheme in Kilrea

(25th July - 5th August 2011)

QUART supported STARS Autism Project Summer Scheme through staff training. The scheme was held at Crossroads PS, Kilrea, with the support of the Board of Governors and the Friends of Crossroads. Twelve children enjoyed a range of activities, under the capable guidance of experienced school staff members, with training and advice provided by PEAT. For more information click here.
