BIOCOL Colour Removal from Textile Dyeing

Colour from spent textile dye baths causes huge environmental problems when discharged into the environment. We are currently developing the BIOCOL process, this process removes colour from textile dye baths before discharge. Crucially the system does not produce waste sludge and is also capable of treating heavily coloured dye baths at source; therefore a very compact plant is able to treat the entire colour from any single site. This system consists of vessels packed with patented biomass that actually degrade the colour by natural processes but at extremely rapid rates.

The process has been tested at pilot-scale and we are currently working toward a large scale trial of the system.
