Material characterisation facilities

The facilities to carry out chemical, microstructural and morphological analyses of structural materials are listed below:

  • High specification modern Microscope for reflected and transmitted lights and polarising and fluorescence light sources, attached with hot stage that goes up to 1600 0C. The microscope is connected to a digital data acquisition and image analysis system.
  • UV/VIS spectrophotometer
  • Simultaneous TG/DTA/DSC thermal analysis system
  • Scanning Electron Microscope with EDX attachment
  • Electron Microprobe Analyser
  • X-ray Diffractometer with high temperature (12000C) and relative humidity attachments.
  • Hardness Testing apparatus.
  • Potentiometric Titration
