Short Courses
MSc in Quantitative Methods and Statistics in Education
The Centre is currently developing a new flagship MSc in Quantitative Methods and Statistics in Education. The programme will be available from September 2014 and will be offered part-time (up to maximum of 5 years) or as a one year full-time course.
Flexibility and Short Courses
Students will be able to exit the programme at various points: those exiting after 60 credit points will receive an Advanced Certificate of Education. Those exiting after 120 credit points will gain a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Education. Those who wish to complete with a Masters will complete a 15-20,000 word dissertation. This is a supervised piece of work undertaken with a specialist in the field.
Whilst students enrolled on the MSc will be required to take six 20 point modules and a dissertation in order to complete the programme successfully, there are also opportunities for students to enrol on any of the modules in isolation as a standalone 'short course'. Those students who meet entrance criteria for the MSc may thus enrol on a short course and accumulate credit points which may eventually lead to a Diploma or Masters.
