Postgraduate
Cii offers postgraduate training leading to MRes, MPhil, MD and PhD qualifications mainly through laboratory and clinic based research projects. We also host visiting MRes students from overseas training programmes. Students present their work on a regular basis to the Postgraduate Education and Training Committee and at Annual Research Symposia within Cii. Students also present their discoveries at both national and international scientific meetings and publish in peer-reviewed scientific and clinical journals.
Students are expected to lead their own projects under the supervision of a Principal Investigator, however most projects require working within research teams. Therefore, in addition to technical research skills, this type of training develops both leadership and team skills in a setting that requires critical analysis on a daily basis and very effective planning! Our graduates have gone on to a wide range of careers in industry, academia, health service and other sectors.
