'FROM DISCOVERY TO RECOVERY'
My research interests include:
1] stuying the under lying airways inflammation in childhood respiratory disorders including bronchiolitis, wheezing (asthma phenotypes) and problem coughing.
2] non-invasive monitoring of airways inflammation in asthma children
3] using modern technology for rapid point of care testing of respiratory and serious bacterial infections in children
Undergraduate
1] I run a Student Selected Component module in 2nd year undergraduate Medicine course "Ethical issues in Paediatrics". Teaching in this is by way of case discussions and debates.
2] I teach in 3 other SSCs (Pain in children, neonatal cardiorespiratory transition systems, sleep disordered breathing in children)
3] I teach and assess students in the 4th year Child Health module.
I chair the Phase 4 Quality Assurance Committee
Postgraduate
1] I was the N Ireland Paediatric training director and RCPCH Regional advisor until 2 years ago
2] I am on the national Respiratory Paediatrics training committee (CSAC)
