Research Statement
My major research interest is innate immunity and inflammation.  I am particularly interested in the host response to pathogens including the expression and functionality of host defence peptides and in the contribution of the nervous system to the local inflammatory response (neurogenic inflammation).  I am also interested in the role of proteases in inflammation and their role in the degradation of host defence proteins and peptides.
