The former bridge over the river Maros was knocked down by withdrawing German troops in WWII. The memento can still be seen after 60 years, although plans have been made for reconstruction. The bridge would serve as an important route between a regional triangle touching Romania, Hungary and the Serb Republic. Photo and comment courtesy of Aron Kuthi and Attila Lambert (2005).

The range of interdisciplinary research conducted by CIBR members and fellows is evident in our publications output. We have listed a select range of our recent joint and individual publications on the topic of borders and border regions here. Also available to download from this website is a selection of our working papers, both from CIBR and the Mapping Frontiers project.
