Microplasmas

Operated at elevated pressure non-equilibrium plasmas can be sustained at dimensions down to microns. This offers the potential for extremely localized treatments - down to cell dimensions. Interesting fundamental phenomena occur at these ultra-small dimensions and resultant high electron densities, such as a blurring of the plasma-solid interface and plasma collectiveness.
