Preliminary investigations on treating plasmid DNA with an rf micro atmospheric pressure plasma jet are shown below. Plasmid DNA in PBS is exposed to a helium oxygen plasma for various times and using gel electrophoresis the different DNA constituents (supercoiled, open circular and linear DNA) can be identified.
