4 February 2014: Hub Roadshow at Clinical Translational Research and Innovation Centre, Altnagelvin Hospital Campus, Derry/Londonderry
This half day event features an introduction to the Hub and the Network of Hubs, an overview of key steps in trial design, and a one-to-one clinic service where Hub staff will present potential solutions to problems submitted in advance. This may include discussing issues with existing trials or finding out how to get started with an idea for a trial. 7-8 May 2014: Randomised Trials course at Riddel Hall, Beflast
This 2-day course covers a range of issues relevant to the design, conduct and reporting of clinical trials, and key issues to consider when preparing a funding application. The course will be a mixture of lectures and small group work with a Faculty drawn from across the Hub, University of Ulster and Queen's University Belfast. 7-11 June 2014: Masterclass on Systematic Reviews in Cancer, Belfast
The Hub, Cochrane Methodology Review Group and Queen's University Belfast are working with the European School of Oncology to offer a 5-day Masterclass taking participants through the conduct of systematic reviews in cancer. The Masterclass will help participants to strengthen the design of a review and to learn generic skills for using reviews for policy and practice. Participation is by application only and successful applicants will receive free registration and accommodation.
A widely experienced Faculty has been assembled, including several from Queen's University Belfast: Fiona Alderdice, Chris Cardwell, Mike Clarke, Patrick Johnston, Frank Kee and Liam Murray. More details are available here.
