Research Interests

My research interests are ethno-national conflict and the transition from conflict, in particular, the inclusion of marginalised identities in post-conflict arrangements. I have specific interests in gender and minority ethnicity and in the transition from conflict in the former Yugoslavia. My PhD thesis (QUB 2011-17) looked at the inclusion of women and minority ethnic identities in Kosovo and Northern Ireland, my MA thesis (2002-4) examined the participation of women in peacebuilding in Northern Ireland and my undergraduate thesis (1999-2002) compared the Belfast Agreement 1998 with the Matignon Accords (regarding Corsica).

Publications

I have published peer-reviewed academic articles or book chapters on reconciliation in NI, women and peacebuilding in NI, women and the transition from conflict in NI and Bosnia and Herzegovina, women and non-traditional occupations, women and Loyalism, migrant workers, Irish Travellers and minority inclusion in Kosovo. I am currently working on the following research projects: Gender and Minority Inclusion in Kosovo and NI, Comparative Minority Ethnic Inclusion in Kosovo and elsewhere in Europe, and Political Representation of Women in N Ireland.
