The Centre's public health research spans cancer, diabetes, physical activity, nutrition, mental health and wellbeing, education, and economics to name but a few. 

Aligned to the Centre are a number of major initiatives and awards, leveraged by the investigators, including the ADRC, a six million, 5yr ESRC investment into Data linkage, a one million MRC award (The PARC study) following the rejuvination of the Connswater Greenway in East Belfast, assessing the levels of physical activity and community wellbeing this is bringing to the area, the hosting of the All Ireland Methodology Hub, the NICOLA longitudinal study (recruiting 8,000 subjects for a study into ageing), and the The Wellcome Trust-Wolfson Northern Ireland Clinical Research Facility, a partnership with the Health and Social Care, Queens University and the University of Ulster.
