Spiritual capital and the role of the churches word 2003 version.doc
John Brewer's new book offers a pioneering analysis of peace processes from a sociological perspective, providing a corrective to the dominance of 'good governance' approaches in political science, international relations and human rights law. It takes for granted the importance of instititional reform in governance and human rights and addresses a range of sociological issues normally neglected in the good governance literature, such as women's empowerment, the deconstruction of violence masculinities, the social reintegration of ex-combatants, religion, civil society, memory, victimhood, truth recovery, and the management of emotions.
