Biography

 

Bowen Zhou (Bruce) comes from Liaoning province of China. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and ITS Automation and a Master's degrees in Electric Power Systems and ITS Automation from Wuhan University in 2010 and 2012 respectively. During his studies in China, he focused on Special Protection Systems (SPS), also called Wide Area Protection, and evaluation on the operating efficiency of electric power networks. He finished his Bachelor and Master's thesis based on these two areas.

Bruce joined the EPIC research cluster at Queen's University Belfast in February 2012. His PhD studies are supported by the Chinese Scholarship Council from China and the UK-China Science Bridge Award from QUB.
