Energy, Power and Intelligent Control

Long Zhang (Will) comes from the Heilongjiang province of China. He got his Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2008 and 2010 respectively. Here he received awards as an Outstanding Graduate and for his thesis. During his master’s studies, he was project leader for three projects and gained expertise in embedded system hardware, software design and Visual C++ programming. His master’s thesis was entitled “Research on detection and material identification of space equipment based on wavelet transform and neural network algorithms”.

Will joined the Energy, Power and Intelligent Control cluster at Queen’s University Belfast in September 2010. His PhD studies are supported by the Chinese Scholarship Council and by the award of a UK-China Science Bridge bursary from QUB.
