Biography
Victoria joined the Intelligent Systems and Control Research group as a research fellow in 2011.
She received a MEng with distinction in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1997 while sponsored on the TE&A Industrial (Dainton) Scholarship Scheme with Northern Telecom. In commencing her PhD, she won a Leslie H Paddle Scholarship from the IEE, a Distinction Award from DENI and gained sponsorship from Nortel. In 2002 she was awarded a PhD in Adaptive Signal Processing for her work on echo control for packet-switched digital telephony.
During her PhD studies Victoria won the Northern Ireland IEE Younger Members Paper Evening (1999) and followed this by winning the National IEE Premium Finals (1999).
Victoria received a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Teaching (PGCHET) from Queen’s in 2010.
Current Research Project:
Haptic, Audio and Visual Interfaces for Maps and Location Based Services (HAPTIMAP), funded by the EU Framework 7 program.
