Biography

 

Dr. Xueqin Liu received her BSc (Mathematics) and MSc (Operational Research and Cybernetics) degrees in Ludong University in 2002 and 2005 respectively. She started her PhD (Control Engineering) in Zhejiang University in 2005. In November 2006, she received EPSRC sponsorship and continued her PhD in Electric Power and Energy Systems Research at Queens, graduating in July 2009.

Before joining Energy, Power and Intelligent Control as a Lecturer in May 2013, Xueqin worked as a research assistant in the School of Mathematics and Computing, in University of Ulster (January – May 2013), School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, in Queen’s University Belfast (February 2009 – December 2011).

Research interests:

• Power system wide area monitoring and control based on multivariate statistics and machine learning approaches
• Non-linear modelling and control of polymer extrusion processes
