Xiaoqing Tang (Emma) comes from Harbin City, China. She got her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in July 2008 and July 2010 respectively.  Emma received the award of Outstanding Student of Heilongjiang Province after six year’s study. Her master’s thesis was entitled “Research on Particle Detection for Military Electrical Component based on Random Vibration”.

She joined the Intelligent Systems and Control group in September 2010. Her PhD studies are supported by the award of a UK-China Science Bridge bursary from Queen’s University.
