Biography
Xiaodong Zhao (Leo) is from Hebei province in northern China. He majored in Electrical Engineering and Automation in Harbin Institute of Technology and got his Bachelor and Master's degrees in 2009 and 2011 respectively. During his master degree's study, he designed experimental equipment for an arc image acquisition system and programmed it to extract arc spot trajectory from images.
Leo joined the Energy, Power and Intelligent Control cluster at Queen's University Belfast in September 2011. His PhD study is supported by the award of a UK-China Science Bridge bursary from QUB and by the Chinese Scholarship Council.
