The Gender Research Forum @ QUB

The Gender Research Forum is a multidisciplinary forum on all aspects of gender studies across the University. The GRF is now operating with new dynamism and a small but significant amount of funding.  Its purpose is to provide a forum where scholars with a research interest in gender can meet on a regular basis to discuss their work, network with others interested in gender research, and develop collaborative interdisciplinary research proposals. The forum is open to both faculty and to post-graduate students, as well as others who may be interested in specific events.

We intend to host a number of open meetings each year which will introduce local researchers to scholars of national and international repute. The major theme for the coming year is Gender/Science Studies though there will also be some events outside this remit.

We have a mailing list for the Gender Research Forum where we can keep interested parties informed of Belfast based meetings and seminars and also draw attention to some relevant national and international conferences. Details on how to join the GRF mailing list are here.

Participants in the forum are encouraged to let us know their views, and requests for incoming speakers, so don't be left outside. You can email us directly here.

The current convener of the GRF is Dr Yvonne Galligan (Reader in Politics, School of Politics and International Studies, QUB) and her co-convener is Dr Margrit Shildrick (Reader in Gender Studies, School of Sociology, QUB). See our staff pages here.
