Biography

My background is Sociology (BA) and Research Methods (Mres).

I started working for the Institute of Child Care Research in 2011 as a member of the Lifestart Team. The Lifestart Study is a is a longitudinal Randomised Controlled Trial evaluation of the Lifestart parenting programme, a structured child-centred programme of information and practical activity for parents of children aged from birth to five years of age.

I am currently on an evaluation of the Barnardo’s Ready to Learn Programme which is a programme designed to enhance parental engagement in children’s learning and improve the literacy skills of disadvantaged children.

Research interests

My research interests lie mainly in early years education, parenting and social interventions. I am also interested in the concept of ‘emerging adulthood’ and its application to the life course trajectory.
