Biography

I am a Chartered Psychologist, and am currently working as a Research Fellow on the Lifestart Study within the ICCR. I was awarded my PhD in Health Psychology in 2007 from QUB, which focused on the determinants of psychological well-being in liver transplant patients. My undergraduate degree was also in Psychology, and I graduated in 2003 with a BSc (Hons.) Psychology.

Since joining ICCR in 2008, I have worked on various projects including - a pilot study exploring the prevalence of domestic violence in older women, an evaluation of Brook Sexual Health Programme, a systematic review of home visiting interventions for disadvantaged families, an evaluation of therapeutic approaches to residential child care in Northern Ireland as well as the Lifestart Study which is a longitudinal evaluation of the Lifestart parenting programme.

Research interests

My current research interests include exploring key determinants of psychological well-being – particularly relating to health interventions. I also have a keen interest in improving the outcomes of children and young people within the care system of Northern Ireland.
