Dr Murtagh is a member of the Northern Ireland Research Steering Group on Ageing and Housing.
Member of the ESRC Grant Review Panel on Connected Communities.
In 2008 we was part of the team headed by Dr Ellis who organized the UK-Ireland Planning Research Conference 2008 Sustainability, Space and Social Justice Queen's University, Belfast, 18-20th March 2008. This was the first time the conference has been held in Ireland.
