Research Statement

Research interests include urban regeneration,housing policy and practice, and the state, governance and urban change.

 

Current and recent funded research projects:

 

Current: Recession, Resilience and Rebalancing Social Economies in Northern Ireland's Neighbourhoods. With Professor Paul Hickman (PI, Centre for Economic, Social and Regional Research, Sheffield Hallam University), Professor John Flint (University of Sheffield) and Joe Frey (Northern Ireland Housing Executive). Funded by the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister.

 

Current: Third Sector Partnerships for Service Delivery: Housing and Housing Support Services in Northern Ireland. With Professor David Mullins (PI, University of Birmingham and ESRC Third Sector Research Centre) and Dr Nick Acheson, University of Ulster. Funded by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

 

Current: The new waterfront: who benefits? Principal Investigator, with Dr Philip Boland (QUB). Funded by the RICS Education Trust.

 

2006-09: ‘Towards Richer Decision-Making': joint project between the School of Business, Trinity College Dublin and the Institute of Governance, Queen's University Belfast. Funded by the Higher Education Authority, Republic of Ireland. With Dr Mary Lee Rhodes and Professor John Murray (Trinity College Dublin) and Dr Joanne Murphy (QUB).

 

2006-07: Contribution to Value for Money study of Ballymun Regeneration, for the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General, Republic of Ireland. With Keith Kintrea (University of Glasgow).
