CESI Global Challenges Away Day
On 1 February, over 40 CESI members met at Riddel Hall to explore and agree the big challenges that should inform the work of CESI. The meeting, chaired by our Director, Professor Allen Thurston, was a great success, with members from School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work and Centre for Public Health all present. This meeting helped to establish the direction of work for CESI and define our distinctiveness as a centre of excellence with global challenges such as breaking cycles of inequalities, mental health/social wellbeing and best use of evidence being discussed. Future meetings and away days will draw on developments made and will inform CESI's strategic plan.
