Contract Research Staff Development Working Group

Contract Research Staff Development Working Group (CRSDWG)

Established in October 2006 the CRSDWG brings together staff from across the University with knowledge of and information about research staff training and development issues.  Membership includes academic, research and administrative staff, whose input assists those people delivering the skills training and career development activity. Development needs of research staff are the primary focus of the working group.  Discussion on these issues have been wide ranging, but it was agreed that the working group should limit itself to highlighting and addressing issues that directly relate to enhancing the provision of development activity for CRS.  Meetings are usually held twice per year and the group is involved in the implementation of the Concordat to support the career development of researchers.  The remit and terms of reference of the group as listed below.

CRSDWG Terms of reference

1. Enhancing the working environment for contract research staff and promoting the role of this group of staff in the University.

2. Recommending and developing policy initiatives that encourage the effective career and professional development of CRS at Queens, in consultation with other relevant bodies as appropriate.

3. Reviewing and conducting research into issues affecting CRS training and development at Queens.

4. Ensuring effective communication with CRS.
