Dr Katrin Dudgeon is a Chartered Psychologist and employed as Research Assistant on the Leverhulme project at the Institute of Conflict Transformation and Social Justice, Queen's University Belfast, with major responsibility for collecting and analysing qualitative interview data from amongst victims/survivors in the Northern Ireland project (2010-2014). Being a Social Psychologist, her research interests focus on gender, emotion, health and coping in the relation to conflict and conflict resolution, particularly, the role of women in the aftermath of conflict and how victims of communal conflict are coping with stress and health issues.

Katrin was born in Berlin in 1970, and completed a degree in Nursing in 1991 at the Wenckebach Krankenhaus before moving to Northern Ireland in 1992. Katrin graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from the Queen's University Belfast and completed a PhD in Psychology focusing on women’s health at QUB (2000). As a post-doctorate Research Fellow, Katrin has worked for the Early Years Project in Belfast concentrating on children's primary school education and as a project manager for the HUMAINE emotion project (Human Machine Interaction Network of Excellence). More recently she worked as a Teaching Fellow for Social Psychology at the Queen's University Belfast and was a member of CRESPP - Centre for Research in Political Psychology at Queen's University Belfast.
