Cancer Services - What is happening to patients.  Results of Audits

Cancer services in Northern Ireland were reorganised following the Campbell Report in 1997 which recommended, centralisation of services from 19 hospitals to 4 cancer units and 1 cancer centre, multidisciplinary team working of designated experts and enhanced communication with primary care and palliative care. Data have been collected and analysed on patients diagnosed with cancers of the breast, lung, colon, rectum, ovary, cervix, prostate, oesophagus and stomach for 1996, 2001 and 2006.
