The aim of the Northern Ireland Centre for Entrepreneurship (NICENT) in its widest context is to embed a culture of entrepreneurship within the universities.

News - NICENT Leads The Way ln Fostering Entrepreneurship

(NICENT) was established in October 2000 as a partnership between by Queen's University Belfast and the University of Ulster and has more recently been joined by Loughry Campus (CAFRE).

It is one of 12 centres of excellence established throughout the United Kingdom as a result of the Science Enterprise Challenge (SEC) and funded in Northern Ireland by the Office of Science and Technology (OST) and Invest Northern Ireland.

There is a particular emphasis on the delivery of modules and programmes for students and academic staff in entrepreneurship, idea development and business planning. This is co-ordinated by the NICENT Planning Group in Queen’s.

We are currently looking for applicants for the 'What's the Big Idea?' competition.
