On completion of her undergraduate degree, Sarah was employed within the School of Archaeology and Palaeoecology as a researcher and undertook a number of post-excavation and research projects, including EDM topographical surveys at Romney Marsh in Kent and at Northton on the Isle of Harris, the compilation of a published database of all artefacts found in Co. Fermanagh, and the management of the post-excavation programme for sites excavated by CFA Archaeology Ltd. at Ballyprior Beg and Portmuck in Co. Antrim. In 2004 Sarah completed an MPhil degree, with a dissertation on The Phasing and Dating of the Timber Circle Complex, Ballynahatty, Co. Down. Sarah has subsequently undertaken Phase 2 of the Condition and Management Survey of the Archaeological Resource for Northern Ireland, a project which assessed the survival and condition of 1500 sites and monuments. More recently she has directed excavations at St Thomas’ Church, Rathlin Island and St Elizabeth’s Church, Dundonald, Co. Down and is currently working on the compilation of a report for publication on the excavations which were undertaken at Parke’s Castle, Co. Leitrim between 1971 and 1975.
