Centre of Canadian Studies
Queen's University Belfast has been officially recognised as a Centre of Canadian Studies since 1986. It is one of just four centres in the UK and the only one in Ireland. It encourages research and teaching about Canada within the University. It is distinctive for its outreach programmes, which aim to bring a greater understanding of Canadian issues and culture to the wider community. It also acts as a conduit, facilitating contact between communities and interest groups here and in Canada. The Centre accomplishes these objectives through a programme of seminars and conferences.
