Food Quality, Safety & Nutrition

BSc (Hons) Food Quality, Safety & Nutrition (DB6K)
BSc (Hons) Food Quality, safety & Nutrition with Professional Studies (BDK6)

The Food Quality, Safety & Nutrition degree (3 and 4 year options) incorporates the study of food production and quality, food structure and composition, microbiology, hygiene, nutrition, diet and health, food processing and business management and entrepreneurship, in a comprehensive and integrated programme.

With increasing concerns over food safety, greater health awareness and a growing knowledge of the effects of food production on the environment, the opportunities for graduates have become wider and more diverse.  These programmes address the importance of the food sector in both the local and global contexts and reflect increasing public concern with food quality and safety.  They have been specially designed for students who wish to combine study in the areas of the nature and composition of fresh and processed foods, how the body nourishes itself in health and disease and the nature of local and global food safety concerns.
