Sustainability, land use and diversification are of increasing challenge in the global arena. The Land Use and Environmental Management programmes have been specially designed to provide students with an understanding of the integrated and holistic nature of land use and environmental management. As a result of the many changes affecting the natural environment today, new and challenging career opportunities are emerging for those familiar with issues of sustainable development, conservation and environmental protection and management. A fundamental knowledge and understanding of the physical, social, economic and cultural aspects of land use is essential to appreciate the interaction between land use and the environment and how this drives policy.
The degree (3 and 4 year options) includes core modules in Environmental Management and Policy, Environmental Assessment, Work placement and Policies for Environmental Sustainability and a wide range of optional modules from Environmental Planning, Geography, Biology, Economics, Sociology and Politics and International Studies.
