Location and Facilities
Located off University Road in the heart of the university campus, the ICC is conveniently situated next to the Student Union, the Lanyon Building, and the Botanic Gardens Park. The University area is serviced by all of the major banks, as well as many cafes, bars, bistros, restaurants, post offices and shops. Belfast Metro runs frequent bus services from locations in South Belfast to the city centre, stopping at Queen’s, just outside the ICC. And the nearby Botanic Station rail halt provides easy train access to Dublin as well as most towns and villages throughout Northern Ireland. Belfast is a city with an intringuing history and with many possibilities of entertainment. The surrounding region has a variety of beautiful and interesting landscapes to explore.
The ICC has ample computer-equipped offices for students and staff, a seminar room, and a kitchen. It houses four laboratories whose state-of-the-art equipments are monitored by a separate control room. The equipments include, among other things, high-resolution concealed cameras ideal for recording behavioral data. The ICC makes available softwares such as MATLAB for the optimal implementation of any sort of research design as well as AI platforms for the simulation of psychological and social mechanisms or processes. In addition to collecting data in our labs and at field sites throughout the world, the ICC gathers web-based data utilizing Qualtrics, the industry-leading platform for online research.
