Admissions

There is a joint application process for the following courses:

  • The Bar course at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (QUB)
  • Solicitors apprenticeship at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (QUB)
  • Solicitors apprenticeship at the Graduate School of Professional Legal Education (UU)

 

Important Information for Applicants:

From September 2014 the Inn of Court will be admitting only 20 trainees, therefore applicants applying September 2013 should be aware there will only be 20 trainee places.

 

 

The first round letters for the 2014/15 applicants have been posted first class on the 20th March 2014.

Update for those intending to qualify as barristers

Page 6 of the Information Booklet for Applications for commencement in September 2011” states:

“The Council of Legal Education set up a pilot scheme whereby six Bar trainees may be offered the possibility each year for the two years (2007-08 and 2008-09) to take the course over a two-year period. 

The Council of Legal Education has now agreed that the pilot scheme will operate for a further two years.  To give applicants an idea of how the scheme will operate the current regulations for this scheme are given here. Trainees will be subject to whatever regulations are in force at the time of their enrolment.
