Welcome

The Institute plays a key role in contemporary Irish research. Research interests include parading, ritual and symbolism, St. Patrick’s day and wider policy engagements on urban space and conflict.

Our interdisciplinary MA in Irish Studies, is eligible for scholarships and bursaries offered by the School of History and Anthropology. In 2014, the International Summer School, 21 July - 8 August 2014 celebrates its fourteenth year. These programmes provide lively interdisciplinary teaching across disciplines such as history, politics, literature, anthropology, conflict resolution, language, folklore and archaeology. Students are drawn from all over Ireland, and as far afield as Europe, the US, Canada, Japan and Australia.
