Australasian Irish Studies and QUB
The Institute of Irish Studies and Irish Studies Initiative at Queen's University Belfast is currently developing new links with Irish Studies scholars and universities in Australia and New Zealand.
Queen's University Belfast will host the 17th Australasian Irish Studies Conference, 1-4 July 2010: Transnational Ireland: migration, conflict, representations
We were delighted to welcome Professor Adrian Little (University of Melbourne) to the Institute of Irish Studies on 1 July 2009 where he gave a very informative lecture on 'Disjunctured Narratives: reconciliation and conflict transformation in Northern Ireland' to a packed lecture room. http://www.qub.ac.uk/schools/IrishStudiesGateway/NewsandEvents/
In addition, we look forward to welcoming Professor Elizabeth Malcolm (University of Melbourne) to QUB in Autumn 2010. Professor Malcolm will deliver the third QUB Annual Irish Studies Lecture. Previous lectures were given by Professor Joep Leerssen (University of Amsterdam) in 2009, and Professor Joe Lee (New York University) in 2008.
The Institute of Irish Studies and Irish Studies Initiative look forward to developing future links with the University of Melbourne.
Professor Peter Gray, School of History and Anthropology (QUB) will be a plenary speaker at the Australasian Irish Studies Conference, 'Ireland and the Irish Antipodes: One World or Worlds Apart?', 9-12 July 2009, Massey University Campus, Wellington, New Zealand.
