The Institute of Irish Studies Spring Seminar Series continues with Dr. Laura McAtackney (University College Dublin) on ‘Following the Fighters? Female experiences of imprisonment during the Irish Civil War 1922-1923’.

This seminar marks a special occasion in the Irish Studies Calendar as it falls on the date on the date of the Institute's founding on the 9th March 1965. To celebrate the Institute‘s 50th Anniversary celebration the seminar will be followed by a drinks reception.

Annual Irish Studies Lecture

As part of the Seminar Programme, the QUB Annual Irish Studies Lecture will be delivered by Professor Marianne Elliott, Director of the Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool, who was born in Belfast and is internationally recognised as one of Ireland's leading historians.

'Wolfe Tone: The Making of a Republican'
