The Institute of Irish Studies provides a hub for Irish-related research projects in many disciplines across the university, as well as hosting a number of projects itself.
Our Irish Studies Research Associates are engaged in projects across a range of subject areas and in collaboration with other disciplines and institutions.
A large number of PhD projects from across the Faculty are associated with Irish Studies, and a number of PhDs have been hosted in the Institute.
The Institute hosts a number of Current Research Projects and has a record of success in its Past Research Projects. In addition, we are involved with a number of Associated Research Projects in Irish Studies hosted in Schools across the university.
There are a rich body of Research Resources in Irish Studies available at Queen's University, locally in Belfast and throughout Ireland, North and South. Our Resources Database contains links to these and to digital resources for Irish Studies available on the internet.
The focus of Research activity in the Institute is our regular Irish Studies Seminar Series. We also host regular research events and conferences.
