Katrina Lloyd is a Research Director with ARK (Northern Ireland Social and Political Archive), which is a joint initiative between QUB and UU. Her responsibilities within ARK are for ORB (On-Line Research Bank), which contains a bibliography and summaries of social policy research carried out in Northern Ireland (NI) since 1990 and the NIHPS (Northern Ireland Household Panel Survey) a longitudinal survey which began in 2001. The NIHPS tracks the movement within NI of individuals and families across the years to reveal changing social patterns in areas such as social mobility, wealth and poverty, and health. Katrina Lloyd has a wide range of reseach interests including housing and policing research in NI, gained while working in the public sector before coming to QUB in 2001. She has co-edited two books on social attitudes in NI. Along with colleagues at QUB and UU, she is currently working on a project collating and analysing data (including the NIHPS, the Family Resources Survey and the Continuous Household Survey) to examine poverty among the elderly in NI.
