First Class Geography Student

Niamh McKenna graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in July 2016 with a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Single Honours in Geography.

During her final year she completed an advanced module “Spaces of Urbanisation in Emerging Economies and Sustainable Development” taught by Dr. M. Satish Kumar.  As part of this module she wrote an essay entitled ‘A critical review of Smart Cities’ which recently won the UA Highly Commended category at the University Global Under Graduate Awards, 2016.

Niamh is currently undertaking a PG Diploma in Education in Secondary Geography at Liverpool John Moores University.  She hopes to qualify as a teacher and also continue further studies and research related to her geographical interests.
