3/05/2016

Shona Cotter, a BSc International Business with Spanish student at Queen's University Belfast recently won the Management Undergraduate of the Year Award at the national TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards.

Shona Cotter, studying International Business with Spanish, won the Management Undergraduate of the Year Award, sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car and her prize for winning is a summer placement with Enterprise Rent-A-Car including a week in the USA. Shona was one of 120 undergraduates who were invited to the final in Canary Wharf where the winner was announced.

Shona is a 3rd year International Business with Spanish student at Queen's University Belfast. As a Student Development Ambassador, she encourages and promotes her student body to get involved in the opportunities on offer throughout campus. Currently on her placement year in Barcelona with the British Chamber of Commerce, Shona helps organise business networking events with the aim of aiding and facilitating trade and investment between the UK & Spain. In her spare time in Queen's she has a popular radio show and is also a part of the Enterprise society and frequently gets involved in courses and competitions on offer in order to develop her management skills.

Through a series of online tests, application forms, interviews and assessment exercises, she emerged as the winner from a very strong field. Award partners targeted a number of universities and so she beat off competition from other excellent students from other excellent universities. This award was one of twelve presented on the day and each award was sponsored by a top graduate recruiter: Mars, Laing O'Rourke, E.ON, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Gazprom, Rolls-Royce, L'Oreal, ACCA,  Mayer Brown, The Bank of England, Expedia and Civil Service Fast Stream.
