Accreditation has been gained from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). CIM is the leading professional body for marketers worldwide and exists to develop the marketing profession, maintain professional standards and improve the skills of marketing practitioners. Queen's University Management School has joined forces with CIM to give our students the opportunity to gain CIM professional qualifications through their Multi Award Pathway (MAP). CIM qualifications are highly sought after by employers, and MAP alongside our own degrees, ensures we are equipping our students with the best opportunities for a successful marketing career.
Upon successful completion of the MSc Marketing programme students will have a number of exemptions from the CIM's Professional Diploma in Marketing, CAM (Communication Advertising Marketing Foundation) Diploma in Digital Marketing (awarded by CIM) and CIM Professional Certificate in Marketing. Students of the MSc Marketing programme will be registered as students with CIM and will have access to all CIM resources (additional fee will apply). Students will be able to attend local CIM branch events and seminars, which will offer networking opportunities and the chance to keep abreast of current marketing thinking and practice.
The Digital Marketing (featuring Google Analytics) module encourages students to work towards a Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ). This is a signal to employers that our MSc Marketing students will have both the theoretical plus practical skills to compete. The examination fee will be reimbursed by QUMS (subject to attaining the award during the module).
The Marketing Analytics for Managers module features SAS software. SAS Institute is a provider of tools, technologies and services focused on business analytics. SAS has been a provider of these technologies since 1976 and is now used at more than 60,000 sites in over 135 countries, including 90 of the top 100 companies on the 2012 Fortune Global 500 list. A recent study shows SAS dominates the global advanced analytics market. Again this is a signal to employers that our students will have theoretical, practical plus industry-standard software skills to compete.
Other special features include marketing master classes and professional workshops by specially-selected and invited academics and business people to complement core teaching.
The programme adopts an industry focused and student-centered teaching and learning approach to equip students with the necessary skills to excel in today's hyper-competitive and challenging business landscape.
