Stock Price Valuation

This session is recommended for students wishing to understand intrinsic and relative stock valuation. Students will calculate the intrinsic value of a stock and will equity back test growth and value stocks. The impact of corporate events on stock prices will be discussed.

Trading Strategies

This session is recommended for students interested in understanding active and passive trading strategies. Students will learn how to use technical analysis for trading and use margin trading on CFDs. Students will learn different passive trading strategies and see how these hold up in different market environments. Portfolio construction will be discussed.

Trading the Economic Cycle

This session is recommended for students with an interest in how the markets move with the economy. Stocks, Bonds, Currency, Commodities, Futures and Options will be discussed and students will leave knowing what to invest in and why at each stage of the economic cycle.

  • Fees: £45 for the complete course (£35 for two sessions and £20 for one session)
  • No previous knowledge of trading and investment is required
  • A place on the course will be guaranteed (subject to places) with an upfront payment for the number of sessions you wish to attend. 
  • Please make cheques payable to “Queen’s University Belfast” and send to Trading Room Manager at Queen’s University Management School (see address at the bottom of the page). Please don’t post cash; you can call in and pay in person.
  • Please note that a refund is only possible if we are notified by 5pm on Thursday 10th October or in the unlikely event of the course being cancelled.
  • This course is available for all students of Queen’s University but as places are limited, places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. If you are not a student of Queen’s University please get in touch and we will try to accommodate, if not now, at least in the future.
  • Please arrive at least five minutes early. There will be a 15 minute break during each session.
